How to get a free breastpump

Breastpumps are expensive…but the good news is, with insurance you can get one for free.

Breastfeeding is the best way to nourish your baby, and is a job that can require some extra equipment. With some breastpumps retailing for over $200, it can seem like an expensive investment in your baby’s diet. Fear not. Most of the time, you won’t have to pay for it.

almost all insurance policies cover the cost of getting a breastpump, even in some medicare/medicaid plans. Check your health insurance policy to see if one is covered. if it is, you can go to websites such as insurancecoveredbreastpumps.com and aeroflowbreastpumps.com to order your breast pump with no hassle. You can also go straight to the website of your preferred breastpump vendor and order it directly. Just have your insurance information ready and your breast pump will be shipped directly to your house. I personally used aeroflow and my pump came in the mail around 1 month later.

I would highly reccomend ordering before your due date and assembling your pump in advance to have a smooth transition into pumping and breastfeeding after birth. Just make sure you research what pump is best for you and your breastfeeding goals.

If you can’t breastfeed, don’t feel guilty. We all have different circumstances and capacities. I breastfed my son for 3 months, and although I wish I could have continued, it was not feasible for me. I wish you a successful journey in whatever you do.
