The Hair Evolution

This post corresponds to the Momic chapter: “Hair styles.” You can read it on Webtoon here.

According to my parents, I was bald until one years old. Thankfully, that was not the case for my son. However, he’s had quite the hair evolution in the past few months. Here are some of them

LOW-TIDE

When my son was one month old His skull expanded…sadly his hair growth did not catch up, making his hairline recede to the back of his head, hence the affectionate name: Low Tide.

Path in the woods

At two months old some of my son’s baby hairs jumped ship. However, this left a very awkward u-shaped bald spot in the middle of the back of his head, like a path in the woods. Honestly…it’s still like that.

The Yamaka (Yarmulke)

My dad coined this one due to the dense colony of hair located on the crown of my son’s head. Rather ironic considering his dad is jewish. Seems he was born with a built-in yamaka.

I’m sure the hair evolution will continue to be a humorous subject in our house, but I have some bad news for my son. Male-Patterned baldness is genetic and passed on from the mother. My dad is bald. I hope he enjoys the hair while it lasts.
